Jessica Glenn, PT, DPT Certified Infant & Toddler Sleep Consultant Founder & CEO
My name is Jessica Glenn, and I am happily married to my best friend, and we have three beautiful children who we adore. I first learned about sleep consultants when I became a mother and went through the process of learning how to teach my babies independent sleep habits. Before getting married and having children of my own, I always admired families whose children were able to nap well and go to sleep easily at night. I simply assumed this would be the case for my children and quickly learned this was something I would have to train them to do!
I am also a licensed pediatric physical therapist and have seen the value in good sleep and the effects this has on my patients. Patients who have a good routine and sleep well at night tend to make quick progress in therapy and meet set goals at a much faster pace than those who are not.
THE PUZZLE
Teaching sleep is hard! Thankfully as a new mom, I was surrounded by seasoned moms who knew the value of a good daily schedule and teaching independent sleep. So I began to learn to do this with my first and reached out to other moms for help during my own training process giving me the knowledge and information I needed to successfully sleep train my first born. He began to take regular naps at set times that I could count on, had no difficulty falling asleep, and slept through the night by 6 months. We did the same process from the beginning with our daughter and saw immediate results in her naps and night time sleep. Our daughter was born premature and was in the NICU for some time but the principles still applied and we were able to train her to sleep well early on.
This was a game changer for me and my family! Our babies were happier and more easy going because they were well rested, and us as parents were of course not as tired and had time in the evenings together after a long day of chasing them around. Having them on a set daily schedule helped me plan my days for errands, exercise or much needed downtime for myself. All this has helped our family to function well and our marriage to continue to thrive in a season of littles when sleep is no longer an everyday issue.
MY PHILOSOPHY
Seeing my own babies benefit from key practices has given me a passion and desire to help other parents who are struggling with their child’s sleep. I know the exhaustion, frustration, and stress that comes with fighting lack of sleep in your child and what that can do to your overall health as an individual and family.
I see baby sleep as a puzzle that needs to be sorted and solved leading to improved sleep, and I look forward to supporting you any way I can.
